Surfing in Trinidad and Tobago has a long colourful history, from its early pioneers to the formation of the SATT in the 1980s to the array of gifted competitive surfers that emerged from the 1990s.

 

Long standing SATT member Sherrard Spiers compiled an informative booklet that traces the early developments in surfing in Trinidad and Tobago.

We sit floating on our surfboards awaiting waves in the lineup of surf spots all over the country, we are half in the water and half out; we ride from the breakers outside and end on the beach, we straddle land, sea and air.

The surfing lifestyle is alive and well!
